Since its launching three years ago by Orange Jordan and the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan- int@j, under the umbrella of Women Economic Empowerment Unit- SHETECHS, the “Inspiring Change” Award has gained an increasing momentum and attracted more successful women who are contributing positively to their communities’ growth.
In a culmination of these efforts that led to enabling more women to join the ICT sector, winners of the 3rd edition of the “Inspiring Change” Award that was launched in March on the occasion of International Women’s Day, were announced during the special ceremony that took place at the Innovation Hub in Orange Digital Village in Amman, on May 15th.
Winning Projects included Smart Green for AgriTech represented by its Founder Salma Amayri who won the first place with JD 3,000, SOLVillion represented by Aya Abu AL Haj won the second place with JD 2,000, and Hiba Jamjoum won the 3rd place for her project Tameem and Reem with JD 1000.
The CEO of Orange Jordan, Philippe Mansour valued the projects that exemplify technology-supported inspiration, creativity and innovation. He praised how participants are raising the bar every year to come up with innovative ideas that provide creative solutions to the societal challenges in vital sectors such as agriculture, education, sewage, and more.
Eid Amjad Sweis, int@j’s Chairman of the Board of Directors stressed on the essential role of the “Inspiring Change” Award as it represents a significant driver for innovation which in turn boosts women participation in the sector.
Sweis further added that Women Economic Empowerment Unit- SHETECHS at int@j aims to foster collaboration between private, and public sectors, academic institutions, and civil society to increase women representation in the ICT sector and support the transformation toward advanced digital economy.
