BIG by Orange concludes its seventh season

​Orange Jordan held a graduation event for the seventh season of its Startup Accelerator Program (BIG) startups via ZOOM application, in line with the preventive measures taken to curb the spread of COVID-19, attended by the CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, members of the program's steering committee and media representatives. The event marked the conclusion of the five startups journey in the seventh program. The graduation ceremony celebrated the success of FittiCoin, an app that encourages a healthy lifestyle by converting steps into a currency that can be used for purchases from several stores or for donation, VIAVII for customized travel paths that guarantee a local resident experience with the help of artificial intelligence, Sager for Autonomus Robotics specialized in drones, FATE eSports, and Rozme W Nabte for producing paper materials from biodegradable and recyclable paper. During the graduation, Marigny stressed on the importance of BIG program over seven seasons, as it presented numerous projects that cater to the needs and requirements of the local community, transforming them into companies that generate income and job opportunities for youth. Marigny added that the program reflects the commitment of the group and Orange Jordan to support entrepreneurship and enhance socio-economic development, particularly for projects that utilize modern technologies in developing products or services with added value. PR, CSR, and Corporate Communication at Orange Jordan, Eng. Rana AlDababneh, congratulated the graduates, noting that the priority given to entrepreneurship as part of Orange's corporate social responsibility strategy accompanied by the potential of youth, represents an outstanding model for community work that aims to enhance this sector by adopting talents and encouraging creativity, helping them turn ideas into reality.  AlDababneh said that the eighth season of BIG will be open for registration soon, after relocating from King Hussein Business Park to Orange Digital Village in Al-Abdali, the new home to the company's most prominent initiatives; the Coding Academy, the Fab Lab, and the Innovation Space executed in cooperation with the European Union and an esports training facility powered in collaboration with FATE eSposts. She also thanked the members of BIG's steering committee, consisting of Managing Director at AB Ventures, Faisal Hakki, the General Manager of Roya TV, Fares Sayegh, Executive Chairman of iPARK, Omar Hamarneh, Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j) Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh, CEO of Oasis500, Luma Fawaz, CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, and Chief Enterprise Officer at Orange Jordan, Eng. Mr. Sami Smeirat. The program is considered one of the most important, sustainable initiatives that Orange Jordan has taken to enhance entrepreneurship and support youth, as it provides startups in early stages with all forms of support; technical, informational, mentorship, and networking opportunities within the global Orange network, in addition to the opportunity to participate in world-class events enabling them to expand, accelerate their growth and attract investments. Over seven seasons, BIG program has supported more than 40 startups.     -END-
