Orange declares the commencement of Jordan in photos competition

4 Dec 2017
The crew members of the “Jordan in Photos” competition were able to successfully build four photography camps in the desert of “Sahraa Al Dahek” located in the Eastern edge of the Badia, with the participation of a large number of professional photographers of all ages. The national competition, sponsored by Orange Jordan, attracted many professionals, including the Jordanian four-wheel drive club, which added an exhilarating and a dynamic edge to the competition, as their four-wheel drive cars fitted with the means to navigate this type of terrain, enabled participants to go beyond ordinary exploration. Beginning early next week, the first round of the public component of the competition, for both professional and amateur photographers, will be commencing with visits to eight touristic sites spread over fifteen tours to cover Jordan from the North to the South. Over the past few weeks, the crew of “Jordan in Photos” had been organizing several introductory sessions in most Jordanian Universities to attract students with photography skills to participate in the special category for students in the competition, the sessions had a high turnout and were met with enthusiasm from student participants. With Orange Jordan’s full support, the “Jordan in Photos” competition will be regularly organizing free trips until the end of next month, following which a selection of the best photos will be shortlisted and published during an elaborate honorary ceremony, with the participation of the sponsors from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board and other environmental and commercial institutions and companies. Orange Jordan recently announced its sponsorship and launch of the “Jordan in Photos” competition during a press conference held under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Her Excellency Lina Annab. The initiative aims to draw a new map for internal tourism in Jordan through exploring new touristic and archaeological sites and areas in the Kingdom. -END-
