Orange Jordan has announced that the Orange Developer Challenge has now entered its second phase after receiving a total of 44 applications, 10 of which have been shortlisted to compete in the challenge's second phase. Launched early last month, the Orange Developer Challenge is the largest program of its kind to be launched by the operator, targeting the growing entrepreneurial bases across Egypt, , Jordan, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Congo, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Cameroon, Botswana and France. The challenge's objective is to  offer application developers within the targeted markets the opportunity to employ Orange's cutting-edge APIs (application program interfaces) to develop any of a wide variety of possible solutions and services. As part of the second phase of the challenge, ten candidates from each participating country have been presented with guidelines outlining the technical information they need to access the development platform and the Orange API. The applicants must now proceed with the development of their proposed solutions, the deadline for which has been set for November 1 2015. The projects will be evaluated by specialized committees consisting of experts from Orange and their partners, with each country selecting and rewarding one winning project. In Jordan, the winning project will have the opportunity to receive a variety of valuable prizes, including a cash prize of JD 5,000 and a YotaPhone2 provided by Orange Jordan; a potential investment by Oasis500; a potential partnership with Orange Group; and a mobile advertisement voucher of up to $5,000 provided by AdFalcon. Moreover, at the conclusion of the challenge, one global winner will be selected to receive a grand prize of €10,000.     It is worth noting that this initiative falls in line with Orange's Essentials 2020 strategy, a core objective of which is to leverage on the operator's global network and expertise to support entrepreneurship on a global level. The 2015 edition of the challenge provides the tools and information necessary to spur and nurture the creation of unique and local services from the growing entrepreneurial bases of participating countries. In Jordan, the initiative is being implemented in partnership with  Oasis500, Arabnet.me, StartupJo, Startappz, Adfalcon, and Int@j.  END
