Orange Jordan adopts circular economy to preserve the environment

16 Jun 2022
Orange Jordan is adopting a comprehensive circular economy model in its operations to limit resources and energy consumption as much as possible. These efforts align with the company's commitment to preserving the environment, which is one of Orange Group's main ambitions in its strategic plan, Engage 2025, and the company's corporate social responsibility strategy. To implement a circular economy, the company has taken effective measures to minimize paper and plastic use, such as eSIMs with QR codes, reducing plastic in plastic chips to half, using environmentally friendly and biodegradable bags in shops and electronic bills, especially with the growing base of Orange's customers in the Kingdom.Orange is working to recycle waste, in cooperation with its specialized partners, by following required sorting and organization procedures, especially as plastic waste takes longer time to decompose, in line with its efforts to reduce the paper and plastic used inside the company and its shops.Orange Jordan continues to focus on sustainable and clean energy sources to address climate change and reduce environmental damage as part of the Group's commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2025 and to zero by 2040. The company succeeded in covering more than 65% of its energy needs and reducing carbon emissions by 45 kilotons by utilizing Orange solar plants. The CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, said that a circular economy and reducing carbon emissions are two main pillars that fall within Orange's commitment to preserving the environment, stressing that the company is working towards these goals from the inside, as well as in its shops and sites.Marigny asserted that these measures reflect Orange Jordan's role as a responsible digital leader, seeking to enhance digital inclusion and maintain an environmentally friendly company that contributes to socioeconomic progress and preserving the Earth for generations to come. -END-
