Orange Jordan celebrates the graduation of its Coding Academy’s third cohort

After the success of the first and second cohorts, Orange Jordan celebrated the graduation of the third cohort of its Coding Academy, in a hybrid event, attended by the Acting Director of Initiatives and Knowledge Stations, Liza Habashneh, deputizing for the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, Orange partners in the training program, and media representatives.  Orange Coding Academy is one of the company's sustainable programs to achieve "Training for Employment" by enhancing youth programming skills to increase their employability and provide sectors with qualified programmers. The Academy succeeded in the previous two cohorts, as 85% of the first cohort and 75% of the second cohort got employed, a testimony to the program's effectiveness. CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, congratulated the graduates, stressing the continuity of this important program that supports youth and empowers them with free comprehensive training that offers technical and soft skills, in addition to an internship, to equip them for the labor market.  Marigny also noted that training the labor force in digital fields is in line with Orange's role as a responsible digital leader, especially as youth remain key in the company's corporate social responsibility strategy and a driver of sustainable development. Orange Coding Academy provides interactive free training over 6 months, for students to learn and develop coding languages and soft skills from expert trainers, followed by a 1-month internship at an ICT company. After completing the program's requirements, students receive a certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Princess Sumaya University for Technology and Simplon.co. Orange Coding Academy was launched in partnership with Simplon.co in 2019, to be one of its kind in the MENA region, following in the footsteps of the successful coding academies launched by Orange Group in Senegal and France. Orange Jordan continues to expand the number of the Academy's beneficiaries by establishing coding academies and schools across governorates, in cooperation with the company's partners.   -End- ​
