Orange Jordan celebrated inspirational female figures in the digital sector in an event held at its headquarters on International Women’s Day as part of the group’s global initiative, Hello Women.
During the event, Orange Jordan employees were introduced to the “Hello Women” initiative to enhance female representation in technical and digital jobs by sharing available vacancies among female students in the technical faculties, hiring and training more women for technical jobs.
Founder and partner at Intrasoft Jordan, Heba Majali and General Manager of Investment World for Development and Technology, Rana Abu Zeid Qubain, participated in the event, sharing their success stories and the challenges they faced in the technology sector.
The event also featured the company’s “Care to Recognize” initiative which recognizes female employees through colleagues reading appreciation messages highlighting their achievements and success.
Human Resources Business Partner Director at Orange Jordan, Elian Bouri, affirmed that the Hello Women initiative is an extension of the company’s efforts to support women, empower them across different jobs with a focus on increasing their participation in technical jobs, as women represent 26.4% of the company’s workforce and 29.82% of managerial positions, in addition to enhancing gender equality, noting that the company obtained the Gender Equality European & International Standard (GEEIS) twice.
“As a responsible digital leader, we believe in our huge responsibility towards empowering women through technology which we reflect in active steps from within the company as part of a comprehensive vision that we continue to actualize. We are glad that Hello Women, implemented in partnership with the Information and Communication Technology Association (Int@j), is one of these important steps in Orange and the sector”, she added.
