Orange Jordan concludes the first local edition of the Social Venture Prize

​Orange Jordan recently concluded the first local and seventh global edition of the Orange Social Venture Prize for projects using ICTs, which aimed at encouraging startups that use innovation to fuel development, socioeconomic progress and digital transformation. The jury of the local Social Venture Prize was composed of experts from the entrepreneurial field, from Orange Jordan, Oasis500, Int@j and Injaz and 6 out of the 30 startups that applied for the local version qualified for the final round of the competition, after showing their entrepreneurial projects to the jury. During the final round, three startups won and received financial and in-kind prizes, as well as the chance to qualify for the global edition of the prize later this year. The winning projects were from Waragami who won the first prize and a sum of JD 2000, 360Moms who won the second prize of JD 1000  and the third prize, an iPhone 7 went to E-Aquaponics. The Social Venture Prize, which Orange Jordan made available for entrepreneurs, sheds light on innovative products and services on a regional level, which meets the needs of the local communities in areas such as health, agriculture, education, energy, commerce and industry.The Prize comes directly in line with Orange Jordan's strategy, Essentials 2020 and its updated corporate social responsibility plan, which aims to capitalize on the talents of members of the local community and invest in them, specifically supporting entrepreneurs by offering training programs, financial support and expertise in the field to grow their ideas into reality and contribute to the development of the community. -End-
