1 Jun 2016
Culminating in a closing ceremony on May 26 where winners were honored with a variety of fabulous prizes, Orange Jordan recently concluded its month-long photography competition held under the Patronage of His Excellency Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Nayef Hamedi Al- Fayez, and attendance of Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) Managing Director Mr. Abed Al-Razzaq Arabiyat and in collaboration with Zohrab Photography and Samsung Jordan. Involving dedicated photographers of all talent levels, the photography competition encouraged capturing Jordan's natural beauty, as a way to preserve the country's culture and contribute to increased tourism. After all photographers submitted their work, a panel of judges consisting of creative photographer Zohrab Markarian, artist Hussein Da'she, Director of Communications and Media at JTB Tohama Nabulsi, and Social Media and Portals Manager at Orange Jordan Rabaa Atiyat evaluated the photos based on a specific set of criteria. After much deliberation, three amateur and three professional photographers were chosen as winners. In the amateur division, winning first, second, and third respectively were Amer Foudeh, Abdullah Nashwan, and Nader Shakhshir. In the professional division, taking the first, second, and third places were Hamza Al-Omrat, Abdul Rahman Al-Hussein, and Ahmad Al-Turk. The winners in the amateur category were each presented with a S7 Edge mobile phone, Gear Virtual Reality device, and a MiFi with free 4G connection for six months. In the professional category, the first place winner was given an ounce of gold valued at around JD 1000, a two-night stay in Aqaba for two people, and a MiFi device. The second and third place winners were given the prizes of the amateur winners, with the second place winner also receiving a two-person two-night stay in Aqaba. Commenting on the occasion, CEO of Orange Jordan Jérôme Hénique said, "The end result of the photography competition was overwhelmingly positive, as we received an incredible amount of entries from Jordan's most talented photographers. Upon looking at the photos that were chosen as the winning entries, I am confident that people in Jordan and around the world will be able to gain a fresh, unique perspective on this magnificent country, meeting the goals of both the competition and of the Kingdom. We would like to thank His Excellency Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Nayef Hamedi Al- Fayez, Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) Managing Director Mr. Abed Al-Razzaq Arabiyat, Zohrab Markarian for photography and Samsung Jordan for their support of the competition. " Through Orange Jordan's recently updated Essentials 2020 strategy and reinvigorated corporate social responsibility framework, the company seeks to identify and elevate both individuals and enterprise within the Kingdom with skills that will help contribute to national socioeconomic growth and create a better future for Jordan. -END-
