Orange Jordan offers 100 grants to teach children coding

Orange Jordan offered 100 grants for children to give them the chance to learn programming from home via Hello World Kids Company's "Hello Code" platform.The company aims to facilitate the educational process for primary school students and help them adapt to the replacement of conventional learning with distance education as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of Corona Virus in the Kingdom, leading to.The eligibility criteria, defined by the platform, are: parents shall fill out the online registration form, the applicant must be between 8-12 years old, and shall have a computer and Internet connection at home. Preference will be for students from public and UNRWA school students, and children residing in governorates across the kingdom.Orange Jordan stressed on the necessity of investing students' time by offering them educational experiences that will positively impact them and their societies, in light of suspension of traditional schooling and relying on online education, pointing out that coding is one of the most promising fields that contribute to developing their abilities, utilizing their energies, developing their competencies ,stimulating their creativity, and mending their problem-solving skills.According to Orange Jordan, offering these grants stems from the company's role as the digital partner of the Kingdom, and reflects its corporate social responsibility strategy which focuses on developing education and promoting digital inclusion. It also contributes to the company's efforts to making Jordan a hub for creative and qualified programmers, which are embodied by setting up Orange Coding Academy for youth. Hello World Kids, announced on social media that Orange Jordan is offering these grants to Hello Code's platform program which is dedicated to teaching kids "Smoothy" coding language. The program adopts teaching by playing method; the kids are required to watch fun cartoon episodes in Arabic language and take part in challenges to develop software projects. The platform's technical support team will be present to answer the children and answer their inquiries. This program aims to enable beneficiaries to design programs, and learn simple coding which will qualify them to the national competition for young programmers 2020, and win valuable financial prizes.Hanan Khader, the founder, and CEO of Hello World Kids said; "Orange Jordan's support to this initiative plays a vital role that corresponds to our mission to develop the skills of the next generation in the field of coding, especially for children from government and UNRWA schools, and we, in turn, thank the efforts of this great institution that supports development in the field of technical education all over the kingdom." Khader added that Hello Code platform has been integrated with many private schools, inside and outside the Kingdom, confirming the company's continuous endeavor to provide the platform in every home to make good use of children's spare time in learning these vital skills for their future, and to build partnerships with the private sector to contribute to serving the local community.-End-
