Orange Jordan Reaffirms its Commitment to Eliminate Discrimination Against Women

7 Dec 2020
In line with the diversity and inclusion agreement that was signed between Orange Group and UNI Global Union, a global union federation that represents 20 million workers in 13 sectors, Orange Jordan reaffirms its commitment to exert all efforts to eliminate violence and discrimination against women, especially in regard to workplace gender equality, work-life balance and combatting discrimination and violence in concurrence with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25th each year.   The diversity and inclusion committee, headed by Orange Jordan's Chief Legal, Regulatory, Sourcing, Supply Chain & Human Resources Officer, Dr. Ibrahim Harb, will be responsible for executing these pillars in order to create clear policies and strategies regarding eradication of discrimination against women.  The committee's tasks also include enhancing gender equality, equal opportunities and combating discrimination and practices that may be inconsistent with the values of equality and human rights, in addition to preventing monitoring and addressing any violations in accordance with the health and safety policy.   Dr. Harb affirmed the company's commitment towards ensuring a safe workplace with equality and respect, noting the importance of taking effective measures to combat violence and discrimination against women, as it remains one of the most common violations of human rights in general.   He also added that these negative issues hinder progress and prevent the participation of many women in socioeconomic development. The company has dedicated its efforts to hold offenders accountable for their actions, and find effective solutions that will enhance the diversity and inclusiveness culture, especially in the workplace, to uphold a dynamic environment that embodies Orange values.    - End –
