5 Jan 2017
Orange Jordan recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with int@j (information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan to utilize their “Blue Ocean Council” (BOC) to provide mentorship and extra guidance for the benefit of the participating entrepreneurs in the third season of BIG. Through the agreement, Orange Jordan aims to give the opportunity to start-ups in all seasons of BIG starting with its season 3 to benefit from the expert mentorship of BOC; an initiative launched by int@j, which is dedicated to providing technical and professional advisory services to individual entrepreneurs and companies in the ICT sector, as a lucrative addition to the vast array of services that Orange Jordan offers to aspiring start-ups. Commenting on the occasion, Orange Jordan CEO Jérôme Hénique said: “We are very proud to enter into a partnership such as this one with int@j’s ‘Blue Ocean Council’ because we strongly believe in empowering entrepreneurs and nurturing their start-ups. We chose int@j to be our partners in this respect, as our values and goals are very closely aligned, particularly in playing a major role in improving the ICT sector. We firmly believe that entrepreneurs will greatly benefit from this new partnership, and, as a result, they will contribute to bettering Jordan’s socioeconomic future in the long run. In this cotext we assure that we will make all possible support for season3 and following seasons to ensure maximum benefit for the start-ups be it via training, business collaboration locally and internationally, mentorship and opening channels for investment opportunities ” Chairman of Int@j, Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh stated, “We are true believers that entrepreneurs and startups are the drivers of Jordan’s transformation to a digital economy, as per the royal initiative, REACH2025. There is no doubt that Orange is a major contributor towards making such transformations happen through its support to startups and the related ecosystem in our beloved country.” CEO of int@j Nidal Bitar said, “As a representative of the ICT sector in Jordan, one of the main pillars that int@j has been committed to and working on is the support of entrepreneurs and startups, which, in addition to other initiatives within this pillar such as the ‘Darat Al Reyadah’ Public Incubator and the ‘1,000 National Entrepreneurs Initiative,’ comes the Blue Ocean Council. As a result of the agreement, members of the council will happily transfer and provide their long expertise and knowledge to the startups of BIG by Orange through mentorship, coaching, and advice.” Based on an exclusive model, Orange Jordan focuses on the growth phase of already operating start-ups that need extra preparation to be successful in the market.
