1 Dec 2019
Orange Jordan sponsored a series of the Model United Nations educational and training sessions recently held at AlHussein Technical University and the International Academy - Amman, in addition to the Arab council held at Al Asriyya Schools. The MUN, common in many countries around the world, is an educational simulation of the United Nations that aims to help students in developing their skills in debate, communication, and diplomacy. In a press release issued by Orange Jordan, the company stressed that it supports education and training events for university and school students as part of its main interest to contribute to enhancing the educational process by expanding interactive activities that promote the exchange of ideas and civil dialogue, in addition to other aspects of personal, academic and professional development. Through these models, students take the role of ambassadors of their respective countries and exchange views on issues of interests to gain a basic understanding of the framework, action plan, and procedures of the UN and major international organizations. The company supports the MUN in line with its corporate social responsibility strategy, which focuses on empowering the youth and developing the educational sector as keys to the progress of society. These models are particularly important in providing a platform to discuss the most pressing issues in many areas, focus through its guests and speakers on the development of dialogue skills, the art of public speaking and critical thinking, and to make a remarkable and valuable addition to the curriculum. This year's annual MUN organized by AlHussein Technical University students under the theme "resurgence: the promising prologue" witnessed the participation of more than 200 students between 16 and 25 years old from Jordan and other countries. As for the annual MUN organized by Amman International Academy under the theme of "political and social polarization in a global context", the main activity was the discussion of the most pressing international and local issues to develop the skills of dialogue, public speaking and critical thinking. Al Asriyya Schools's Arab Council "Our Future" was attended by 200 students from inside and outside the Kingdom in an event that calls for the development of personal skills while preserving cultural values.-END-
