Orange Jordan successfully concludes participation at MENA ICT Forum

​Orange Jordan sponsored and participated in the 2016 MENA ICT Forum that was held recently in Amman and saw a large participation of local, regional and international participants under the title “Digitizing the Economy”. During the forum, Orange Jordan was represented by a number of executive-level leaders and directors, most prominently being Orange Jordan Chairman Shabib Ammari, CEO Jérôme Hénique, Chief Officer of the Enterprise Business Unit Sami Smeirat, Chief Financial Officer Raslan Derianieh and various managers that participated in different sessions of the forum. In addition, Orange Jordan also helped facilitate networking by supporting the use of the Poken device and technology among participants and attendees, and had its own booth at which the most advanced technologies of the future were shown. The company also announced a strategic partnership with the Information and Communications Technology Association – Jordan (int@j) to reinforce its support to entrepreneurs who are currently participating in season three of Business Innovation Growth (BIG) and help accelerate the growth of their start-ups through the expertise of the Blue Ocean Council. In one of the sessions entitled “Growth hacking the industry: What does the Sector Need to Grow?” Orange Jordan CEO Jérôme Hénique tackled many subjects and issues related to future development of the technology and telecommunications sectors, discussing the importance of the markets where products and services are being offered and specific regulations and rules that support the sector. During his participation, Hénique also pointed out that there is a positive relationship between investment and GDP, based on a study done by MIT, and that between the years 2004 and 2016, telecommunications companies contributed to the GDP at a rate of 18%. The Strategic Marketing Director at Orange Jordan, Amr Abu Sulieman, talked about the importance of infrastructure preparation for digitization and spoke about the large role that infrastructure plays for companies in delivering strong Internet with high speeds. At its booth, which carried the theme of Orange Jordan connection to the future via Next Generation Networks, Orange Jordan presented an expansive portfolio of services and products that specifically focus on easing the transition to a digital economy and meeting all needs therein. New Generation Networks are a new era of networks representing the future of connectivity, including fourth generation networks which include LTE, LTE-M, LTE-IoT, Fiber to the Home FTTH, Fiber to the Business FTTB, and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem). In addition to reaching 95% 4G-LTE coverage, We have already laid 6,000 kilometers of fiber cables for use by our enterprise customers, and more than700 kilometers of fiber cables are being laid for Fiber-To-The-Home FTTH, collectively covering a majority of the Kingdom by the end of year.In addition to displaying the latest and most unique technologies in the world, such as VR and “Smart Cities,” Orange Jordan distributed the “Poken” ; a device provided by the agent firm of Poken in the Kingdom “Beautiful Mind Company”, which facilitated the exchange of information and data between the more 500 participants and attendees, shedding light on its various benefits and advantages.Orange Jordan focuses on facilitating digital transformation, reinventing customer relationships, and connecting people to all that is essential to them, all of which are aligned with its five-year corporate strategy Essentials 2020.Held biennially under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II and organized by int@j, the MENA ICT Forum is considered the premier and most important ICT event in the region.-END-
