11 Mar 2020
Orange Jordan supported the 9th Model United Nations (MUN) conference, which was held recently at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) under the patronage of the university's President, Prof. Mashhoor Al Refai. The event which was titled "We are the youth" was attended by the Vice President of PSUT's Board of Trustees, the Chairman of Oasis 500 and the former Minister of Information and Communications Technology, H.E.Marwan Juma,. The company said in a press release that it offered sponsorship to this event, due to its importance in informing university students about the international organizations' work, contributing to developing their personal skills, supporting effective communication, and widening their knowledge on international issues of socio-economic impact around the world. The company added that this event goes in line with the pillars of its CSR strategy; youth and education which are considered an excellent tool to gain knowledge and boost competence, supporting the educational process.Such events help graduates find jobs in local and international institutions, the press release noted. Orange Jordan supports conferences and activities, which offer youth the opportunity to learn about work requirements and how to indulge actively in social work, such as MUN conferences which were held at Al Hussein Technical University and The International Academy School, and the Arab Council event which was held at Al Asriyya Schools. These events offer platforms to discuss global challenges and possible solutions, contribute to developing the young participants' communication and critical thinking skills, inspire innovative solutions and encourage cooperation between countries and consolidate their relations, the press release said, noting that these models offer an insight for what can Jordanian youth achieve in the future.Over three days, 200 Jordanian students from various Jordanian public and private universities and international students discussed several global issues that involve youth.MUN is one of the most important programs around the world that stimulate international organizations' work with the aim to expand and diversify students' experiences and develop the cultural and creative aspects of their personalities. -END-
