Orange Jordan welcomes five entrepreneurs in the new season of BIG

​Under the Patronage of His Excellency, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, H.E. Eng. Mothanna Gharaibeh, and in the presence of the CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, the company celebrated on Wednesday the conclusion of its growth-mode accelerator program, BIG, which included six startups: Dealat, iTank, 3DU, Book2read, Signbook, and Harreef, after spending around six months of intensive training on making their ideas successful and turning them into productive projects that have a positive impact on society.Orange Jordan also celebrated the welcoming of five new startups that have successfully joined the seventh season of the program, from among 70 startups who have applied to become part of BIG, in which are; FATE Esports, Sager, ViaVii, Rozme W Nabte, and FittiCoin.Eng. Al-Gharaibeh praised the joint efforts between the government and related parties to empower startups and entrepreneurs, and facilitate their access to local and external markets, in addition to facilitating the process and supporting their access to finance and investment, which positively contributes to the economy.  From his side, Marigny affirmed that BIG platform has realized since an early stage, the importance of entrepreneurs in changing the economy compass, where this segment has become a major raise lever for the economies of countries, pointing out that over the past five years, Orange Jordan has contributed to supporting the growth of 37 projects through its platform, and attracted the attention of investors whom are interested in their ideas and partnered with them. These startups have also become employment platforms, offering a solution to the issue of unemployment, forming a cluster of positive economic and developmental dimensions. During his speech at the ceremony, Marigny also welcomed the new startups that will be joining BIG in the new season, and expressed his admiration for their entrepreneurial ideas and the distinctive level of the startups joining the new season, affirming that the selection process went through a meticulous stage, in order to select the best ideas that will benefit the community and companies the most.It is worth noting that a specialized jury selected 70 applications for the new season of the program, consisting  of the CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, Chief Enterprise Officer at Orange Jordan, Mr. Sami Smeirat, Deputy Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Digital & Innovation Officer & Secretary to the Board of Directors, Mr. Mederic Chomel, Chairman of the Board of Directors at int@j, Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh, General Manager of Roya TV, Fares Sayegh, Managing Director of Arabic Venture, Faisal Hakki, Executive Chairman of iPARK, Omar Hamarneh, and CEO of Oasis500, Luma Fawaz.Launched in 2015, BIG program is considered to be a reflection of the company's commitment to enhancing socioeconomic development, through working within the local community, and supporting its economic growth, where the program offers a number of benefits for Jordanian startups that include; logistic support and guidance, assistance in the design of products and services, in addition to setting marketing and strategic plans, providing  services that include; telecommunications, technical support, accounting, Human Resources, legal consulting, and media exposure, as well as providing workspaces at BIG. -END-
