Orange sponsors “Covid effects on the economy and society” conference

Orange Jordan recently sponsored the first national forum on the state of the national economy, entitled "Covid effects on the economy and society", under the patronage of HE the Minister of Labor, Nayef Stetieh. The conference was organized by the Jasmine Foundation in cooperation with the Social Security Investment Fund, the Skills Development Authority and the National Company for Employment and Training.Orange Jordan was keen to sponsor this event, as an effective and vital part of the economy and one of the largest private sector contributors to the Jordanian effort to combat the COVID pandemic and its socioeconomic consequences, in particular since it provided a space to discuss the nation's most critical challenges and how to address them.The conference gathered experts, researchers and decision makers from ministries, governmental bodies, regulatory bodies, and other relevant institutions, to exchange experiences and views on infrastructure development and investment in the public and private sectors, highlighting the challenges currently arising from the global COVID pandemic.The conference discussed oversight and parliamentary legislation in light of the pandemic, the legal and investment aspects of achieving socioeconomic development, and approaches to reducing unemployment rates by empowering the private sector, in addition to a special presentation on the "Estidama" program, which was established to support enterprises impacted by the pandemic.It is worth noting that the company's sponsorship is a continuation of various initiatives aimed at counteracting the repercussions of the pandemic and supporting the country's recovery as well as enabling its rapid response. Since the beginning of the pandemic Orange Jordan has supported the Ministry of Health by establishing a Corona vaccine station, funded by Orange Foundation and benefiting 82,000 people, as well as implementing several initiatives to increase awareness and assist in other ways. This stems from the company's role as a responsible digital leader responding to changes through active participation and its sustainable programs which are designed to maintain socioeconomic development. -End-​
