1 Dec 2019
Orange Jordan so far awarded 33 scholarships to outstanding students to pursue Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT). The year 2019 witnessed an increase in the number of scholarships awarded by the company to the students, a part of a strategic agreement signed by the two parties. CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, said that the scholarships reflect the company's strategy to support education in general and higher education in particular, noting that these scholarships support youth who excel in their studies and help them find quality learning opportunities that increase employability of graduates. PSUT, the CEO added, stands out with several majors, using advanced and modern methods, required in the job market not only at the national level but also at the regional level.According to Marigny, these scholarships represent one of the areas of cooperation between the two parties over several years, and the shared aim of enhancing the progress of outstanding students, especially in digital majors such as communications engineering, information security, network engineering, data science and other majors expected to be in high demand in the future. The company is keen to award scholarships to deserving students, therefore, Marigny asserted, the selection process is based on criteria set by a jury of specialists from both parties. After selection, the scholarships in specific majors will increase student chances to join companies, particularly Orange Jordan, he added. The President of PSUT, Dr. Mashhoor Al-Refai, said that the scholarships are awarded in specific majors on-demand in the job market, the undergraduate majors include electronic engineering, computer engineering, communications engineering, network, and information security engineering, e-marketing and social networking. The master's majors, he added, include data science, information security, cybercrime and entrepreneurship.Dr. Al-Refai thanked Orange Jordan for their support and is looking forward for future cooperation, stressing the importance of this strategic partnership. The company, he said, supports the university's students and helps them pursue their degrees in appreciation of the good reputation enjoyed by the university graduates. The scholarships offered by Orange Jordan are part of the strategic partnership agreement renewed with PSUT in 2017, as well as providing the university with free Wi-Fi services and necessary equipment in the green area of its campus, and sponsoring events and activities held at the university such as the 2018 TEDx.-END-
