Orange Family donates JD 20,000 to Daily Workers’ initiative

​Orange Jordan donated JD 20,000 to "Yawmeyethoum A'liena" daily workers initiative, launched by the charity organizations coalition on NAUA platform, one of the Crown Prince Foundation's initiatives.The donation is part of the company's efforts to support the Kingdom and Jordanians in curbing the spread of coronavirus, in line with Orange Jordan's corporate social responsibility and national role in helping the local community at all times.The company also aims to support Crown Prince Foundation and the platform to provide food parcels for families that depend on daily work and facilitate the process of reaching the largest number of them during this difficult time. The "Yawmeyethoum A'liena" initiative aims to support day laborers and their families, significantly affected by the disruption of work due to the lockdown implemented by the government to limit the spread of coronavirus, by collecting donations, preparing, sterilizing and distributing food parcels for one week, in accordance with the Ministry of Health and the government's directives, as well as precautionary practices necessary to prevent infection.The task of determining beneficiary families in need of help is assigned to the social protection team, headed by Minister of Social Development, Basma Ishaqat, and comprising of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, Tkiyet Um Ali and Jordan Red Crescent, in coordination with the administrative ruler. This process aims to maintain efficiency by ensuring that parcels are delivered to people that need them the most and organize support received from different organizations and initiatives.Orange Jordan has taken several steps to support the Kingdom's efforts in combating the spread of coronavirus, including a JD 100,000 donation to support the Ministry of Health. The company also increased wi-fi internet speed in quarantine hotels subscribed to Orange, ensured efficient emergency services for persons with disabilities, and offered free browsing of the Ministry of Education's e-learning platform, "Darsak", in addition to keeping postpaid lines active even if bills are not paid.Through such initiatives, the company seeks to develop and promote charity work and social cooperation, and to utilize its resources in national solidarity and sustainable development. -END-
